SEATTLE, Sep 24, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Washington Mutual, Inc. (NYSE:WM)
announced today the hiring of Karlene A. Seime-Noble as senior vice president of
Enterprise Data Services within its Technology Solutions Group.
Seime-Noble brings more than 18 years of information technology experience to
the newly created position. Seime-Noble will lead the effort to streamline
Washington Mutual's ability to manage and transfer data between business lines.

efficiency throughout the company," said Jerry Gross, chief information officer

Prior to joining Washington Mutual, Seime-Noble worked for nearly eight years at
Dell Computer Corporation in several IT leadership positions including database
management services, human resource systems, ERP implementation, applications
development and worldwide systems deployment. Seime-Noble has also worked at The
Pillsbury Company, Tandem Computers Inc., Utlas International U.S. Inc. and Data
