WHAT/WHERE: Washington Mutual (NYSE:WM) is expanding its hot, new retail banking concept with the opening of an "Occasio" branch (Latin for favorable opportunity) in Troutdale, located at 22855 N.E. Park Lane (in the Fred Meyer store).

After nearly two years of extensive customer research and testing, the Occasio concept was developed. Occasio offers an open, welcoming environment -- much like a Starbucks or Gap store -- with customer-centric, high-tech service.
