Washington Mutual Annual Meeting and First Quarter 2007 Earnings Release and Conference Call

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2007--Washington Mutual, Inc. (NYSE:WM), announced today that it will provide a live webcast of its Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at the Fifth Avenue Theatre, 1308 Fifth Avenue, in Seattle, Washington.

Participants may access the live audio webcast by going to the Investor Relations portion of the company's website at www.wamu.com/ir.

The company's first quarter 2007 earnings will be released on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, following the close of the New York Stock Exchange.

A conference call to discuss the company's financial results will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Kerry Killinger, chairman and chief executive officer, and Tom Casey, executive vice president and chief financial officer. The conference call will be available by telephone and the Internet. The prepared remarks will be available on the Investor Relations portion of the company's web site, www.wamu.com/ir, prior to the call.
