Washington Mutual to Webcast Its Annual Meeting and Release First Quarter 2003 Earnings on April 15

SEATTLE, Apr 14, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Washington Mutual, Inc. (NYSE:WM) announced today that it will provide a live webcast via the Internet of its Annual Meeting to be held at 2 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at Benaroya Hall, 200 University Street, in Seattle, Washington.

Participants may access the live audio webcast by going to the investor relations section of its website at www.wamu.com/ir. Participants will be in listen-only mode.

The company's first quarter 2003 earnings will be released on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, following the close of the New York Stock Exchange.

A conference call to discuss the company's financial results will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at 7:30 a.m. PDT and will be hosted by Kerry Killinger, chairman, president and chief executive officer, and Tom Casey, executive vice president and chief financial officer. The conference call is available by telephone or on the Internet.

The telephone number for the conference call is 888/282-0170. Participants calling from outside the United States may dial 712/257-2272. The passcode "WaMu" is required to access the call.
