|It's Official! Cranes Install New Signage at WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden|
Catch the Sign Change in Action on Thursday Starting at 10 a.m.

WHAT: The WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden will install its official new signage since announcing the WaMu multi-year naming rights deal with MSG earlier this year. The new signage is 40 feet long by 8 feet high and will take cranes and a team of people to install. The new sign will have white channel lettering with white LED lights, sitting in a blue cabinet display with a blue aluminum, backlit face. WHEN: Thursday, November 15th 10 a.m. - NOON WHERE: WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden 8th Avenue (between W. 31st St. and W. 33rd St.) - New York City WHY: WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden is the first naming rights deal for the property. Previously, upon its opening in 1968, the theater had been known as the Felt Forum and was later named the Paramount Theater in the early 1990's. Most recently, in the mid 1990's, the theater was known as The Theater at Madison Square Garden. NOTES: The WaMu Theater at MSG is a versatile 5,600-seat venue that has served as host to major entertainment and sporting events in its 30 plus year history. Some of the biggest names in the music world have played The Theater including Neil Young, Melissa Etheridge, Kanye West, Van Morrison, Elton John and Simon & Garfunkel. The Theater has also hosted some of the hottest award shows including VH1 Divas Live, The Daytime Emmys and the Essence Awards. The venue has also hosted a variety of sports events including the NBA and NFL drafts and numerous world championship boxing bouts.
