BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP® AND WORLD WILDLIFE FUND "MAKING FRIENDS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE" - Introduces the beary limited edition Lion, fourth animal in series!

ST. LOUIS, MO (August 15, 2003)- Build-A-Bear Workshop® is proud to announce the arrival of the Lion, fourth in a series of co-branded toy stuffed animals developed by Build-A-Bear Workshop and benefiting World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The Lion will be available in stores nationwide and on the web at www.buildabear.com on Saturday, August 16.

For each Lion sold, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate one dollar to WWF to support its efforts to protect the world's endangered animals and their habitats. In cele-bear-ation of the Lion arrival Build-A-Bear will double the donation to WWF for every Lion sold on August 16th and August 17th. That means that Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate two dollars instead of one dollar to WWF every time someone purchases a Lion during this weekend only.

The partnership between Build-A-Bear Workshop and WWF is in its fourth year and has well exceeded Build-A-Bear Workshop's expectations to WWF through sales of the first three stuffed animals in the series of endangered animals, the Giant Panda, the Bengal Tiger, and the Leopard.

Commenting on the partnership with WWF, Maxine Clark, Chief Executive Bear of Build-A-Bear Workshop said, "We are happy and honored to continue this program for the fourth year in a row and to be a part of this effort that benefits World Wildlife Fund. The responses of our Guests, of all ages, tell us that they care as much as we do about animals that are threatened across the world. This is an important cause and thanks to our Guests during this past year, we are very pleased to be able to continue our alliance with WWF and to help generate more funds and awareness for the conservation work they do."

The lion will be available for $25, and each one will wear a collector's medallion featuring WWF's logo. Each Guest who purchases a lion will also receive a numbered Certificate of Authenticity by mail. The WWF partnership is also extended to the web which can be reached at www.buildabear.com.
