Four Canadian authors make the Amazon.ca Top 10 Books of the Year

Chosen by Amazon.ca book editors, the list features the Top 100 books published in Canada during 2012, as well as the Top Ten books in individual categories like Literature & Fiction, Cooking, Food and Wine and Biographies & Memoirs, to name a few. Highlighting this year's list are forty-four Canadian authors, including four in the top 10.

Topping the list of the best books of 2012 is "Gone Girl," by Gillian Flynn, an enthralling psychological thriller about a marriage gone wrong. Customers can also discover a fictional account of George Mallory's final attempt to conquer Mount Everest; a story of a boy who searches for justice on a reservation in North Dakota; a remarkable memoir about a man and his mother who bond over a shared love of books during her last days; a harrowing story of two soldiers trying to stay alive in Iraq; and many other titles that should be on every book-lover's reading list.

Forty-four Canadian authors are featured this year, including notable Can-Lit favourites Alice Munro (#17 - Dear Life), Vincent Lam (#14 - The Headmaster's Wager), Annabel Lyon (#46 - The Sweet Girl), and Emma Donoghue (#82 - Astray). The list also includes two biographies featuring Canadian cultural icons Neil Young (#42 - Waging Heavy Peace) and Leonard Cohen (#50 - I'm Your Man).
