Michael Connelly Passes One Million Kindle Books Sold
Bestselling author of "The Lincoln Lawyer" becomes the seventh member of the "Kindle Million Club"

SEATTLE, Jun 09, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- (NASDAQ:AMZN)--Amazon.com today announced that Michael Connelly is the seventh author to sell over one million Kindle books, becoming the latest member of the "Kindle Million Club." The Kindle Million Club recognizes authors whose books have sold over one million paid units in the Kindle Store (www.amazon.com/kindlestore). Connelly joins Stieg Larsson, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Charlaine Harris, Lee Child and Suzanne Collins in the Kindle Million Club.

"We congratulate Michael Connelly on reaching this milestone and are happy to welcome him to the Kindle Million Club," said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content. "With the recent movie adaptation of Connelly's 'The Lincoln Lawyer' and the publication of 'The Fifth Witness,' it's no surprise to see him join the ranks of other writers of popular series in the Million Club."

"As a storyteller it brings me particular fulfillment to know so many readers are receiving my work through the Kindle," said Michael Connelly. "Added to that, my name is now on a list of an amazing group of writers. I am very proud of this moment."

Michael Connelly is the bestselling author of 23 novels and one work of nonfiction, with over 42 million copies of his books sold worldwide and translated into 36 foreign languages. A former newspaper reporter, Connelly has won numerous awards for his journalism and his fiction. His very first novel, "The Black Echo," won the prestigious Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for Best First Novel in 1992. In March 2011, the movie adaptation of his #1 bestselling novel, "The Lincoln Lawyer," hit theaters worldwide starring Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller. His most recent #1 New York Times bestsellers include "The Reversal," "The Scarecrow," "The Brass Verdict," and "The Fifth Witness," as well as the bestselling Harry Bosch series of novels. Connelly's next Harry Bosch novel, "The Drop," will be published November 29, 2011.
