(NYSE: GNW) announced the re-election of eight directors at its 2006 annual
meeting of shareholders today, including Michael D. Fraizer, chairman and
chief executive officer.
In addition to Fraizer, board members re-elected are Frank J. Borelli,
former Chief Financial Officer, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.; Nancy J.
Karch, former Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company; J. Robert "Bob" Kerrey,
President, New School University and former United States Senator; Saiyid T.
Naqvi, Chief Executive Officer, DeepGreen Financial, Inc.; James A. Parke,
recently retired vice chairman and chief financial officer of GE Capital;
James S. Riepe, former Vice Chairman of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. and, Thomas
B. Wheeler, former President and Chief Executive Officer, MassMutual Financial

finance, risk management, marketing, investment, insurance and other fields

The company also expressed its appreciation to three former directors --
Elizabeth J. Comstock, Pamela Daley and David R. Nissen. They are affiliated
with GE, Genworth's former parent company, and did not stand for re-election
to the board following GE's sale of its interest in Genworth.
