RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Genworth Financial
(NYSE: GNW) announced today that Philip Moeller has been named vice president
of corporate communications.
Moeller will be responsible for developing and executing strategic
communications plans for Genworth Financial as it continues to enhance its
reputation and brand following its recent separation from former parent, the
General Electric Company. Moeller will oversee Genworth's public relations,
annual report, media relations, and visual communications functions and help
leverage initiatives globally to ensure consistent and integrated
communications messages and programs.
Moeller, 59, brings more than 30 years of experience as a financial
journalist and entrepreneur to Genworth. He was business editor at The
Baltimore Sun and The Louisville Courier-Journal, a reporter at The Chicago
Sun-Times and The Charlotte Observer and, most recently was editor of the
Hartford Business Journal. Moeller also has substantial business and
insurance industry experience; he founded insure.com and built it into the
leading insurance information site on the Web before selling the company in
2001.
