RICHMOND, Va., June 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Genworth Financial
announced today the appointment of Melissa Skottegaard to lead Genworth
Financial's Global Community Relations program.

In this role, Skottegaard will guide Genworth corporate philanthropy and
employee volunteer efforts. While Genworth's primary community relation's
focus will be Richmond and Virginia, Skottegaard will be responsible for
developing a strategic approach to Genworth Financial community programs
across the company's operations in 22 countries worldwide.
Prior to this role, Skottegaard managed communications for Genworth's
Retirement Income and Investments segment located in Richmond. She joined the
company in its Denver office in 2000.
Prior to Genworth, Skottegaard, spent more than 10 years managing
fundraising and grant writing for a variety of non-profit organizations
serving homeless families, mentally ill, and at-risk children in Denver,
Colorado.
Skottegaard earned a BA from the University of Colorado and a Masters from
the University of Denver.
