| Notification of the Removal from Listing and Registration of the Stated Securities | RICHMOND, Va., April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Genworth Life and Annuity
Insurance Company ("GLAIC") has notified the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE")
of its intention to remove the entire class of floating rate secured
medium-term notes due 2010 (the "Stated Securities") which were issued through
Genworth Global Funding Trust 2005-A (the "Trust") from listing and
registration on the NYSE at the opening of business on or about April 27,
2009.
Neither GLAIC nor the Trust has arranged for listing or registration of
the Stated Securities on another national securities exchange nor has either
arranged for quotation of the Stated Securities in a quotation medium. The
Stated Securities are being voluntarily withdrawn from the NYSE as the Trust
intends to suspend its reporting obligations under the Exchange Act of 1934,
as amended.
