The 3rd house Bill Pulte ever built |
Pulte Homes got its start in 1950 when 18-year-old William J. Pulte, with help from five of his high-school friends, built a five-room bungalow near Detroit City Airport. He used a floor plan from the Home of the Week section of the Detroit Times and sold it for $10,000. In the six decades since, Pulte Homes has been helping homebuyers across the United States build a better life. Today, our operations span more than 69 markets.
Today, Pulte Homes is the nation’s sole multi-brand homebuilding company capable of serving homeowners during all phases of life through three distinct brands, which include Centex for first-time homebuyers; Pulte Homes for consumers in the move-up market; and Del Webb for active adults age 55 and better.
Much has changed since Bill Pulte first picked up a hammer, but not his commitment to complete customer delight and building top-quality homes.
