White Plains, N.Y. and London, May 17, 2011 -- AboveNet, Inc. (NYSE: ABVT), a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, today announced the appointment of Peter Murray as Vice President of Finance for AboveNet in the UK.

With 30 years experience in a variety of sectors including technology, media and telecom, Mr. Murray will manage the UK and European finance related functions including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance..

Mr. Murray previously held the position of Business Process Manager at AboveNet. In this role, he helped prepare the company for an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) migration and to streamline  existing processes to drive further improvements in efficiency.

He also held Directorships at Centaur Publishing Ltd and Linguaphone Group PLC, as well as running his own successful management consultancy business He has also held senior financial positions at Young & Co's Brewery PLC and IntelligentApps Ltd. 

In his new role, Mr. Murray will contribute to AboveNet's financial strategy, reporting, activities and planning. He will also be responsible for business continuity planning and business process management activities both in the UK and Europe. In addition, He will provide financial leadership to enhance AboveNet's operational effectiveness by providing further financial visibility to AboveNet's customers and prospects.
