MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2007--Journal Communications, Inc. (NYSE:JRN) announced today that for the second period ended February 25, 2007, total revenues for its Publishing and Broadcast groups of $39.28 million decreased 3.5% compared to $40.70 million reported for the second period ended February 19, 2006. Both total revenues and advertising revenues in the second period 2006 were impacted positively by $1.82 million from the first ten days of the Winter Olympics.

Note that unless otherwise indicated, all comparisons are to the second period ended February 19, 2006.

At the Company's community newspapers and shoppers operations, total advertising revenue was $4.11 million, down 12.7% compared to $4.70 million. Other revenue at the community newspapers and shoppers of $1.78 million increased 8.9%.

At the Broadcasting segment, total revenue at the Company's radio and television stations of $16.34 million decreased 2.1% compared to $16.70 million reported for the 2006 second period.
