Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Launches iPad App

MILWAUKEE – May 22, 2012 – Journal Sentinel today launched the iPad app as part of its JS Everywhere print, web, mobile, and tablet/subscription strategy.

“We continue to transform the way we deliver our comprehensive and award-winning content,” said Elizabeth Brenner, president and chief operating officer of Journal Communications’ publishing group. “Our iPad app is sleek, fast and intuitive. It was custom-designed to deliver the best digital reading experience possible including spectacular photos, remarkable video, breaking news, and everything our readers want from the Journal Sentinel at the swipe of a finger.

“Readers will get a compelling experience combining the best of the print and online content optimized for the iPad. Users can share information on Facebook and Twitter, catch breaking stories, explore in-depth series on people and issues in the community, follow favorite columnists, sports scores and blogs, check out movie and restaurant reviews, search the classifieds, laugh at the comics and even get their horoscopes.”

Editor Martin Kaiser said, “Journal Sentinel is the top original source and aggregator of news in Wisconsin. Readers in Southeastern Wisconsin and those outside our region keep returning for our exclusive content. Our iPad app makes it even easier for them to do that.”

The app is available for download directly from the iPad App Store, for free, through July 31, courtesy of charter sponsors Wheel & Sprocket, The Milwaukee Brewers, Aurora Healthcare, the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Sendik’s Food Markets.

The app will continue to be free to subscribers of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a part of their JS Everywhere digital subscription – subscribers simply register their JS Everywhere account at to access Wisconsin’s most comprehensive news and features everywhere, any time.

In January, Journal Sentinel launched the JS Everywhere digital subscription plan. It is free to home delivery subscribers and available as a stand-alone digital subscription, which provides unlimited access to, the Journal Sentinel e-Edition and content previously included in Packer Insider. More information about digital subscriptions is available here.
