Yesterday, the cruise line presented one of the highlights from this year’s festival season: the Prize-Winner’s Concert with Daniel Müller-Schott in Ulrichshusen. At the Rittersaal, the cellist and prize-winner in Residence 2008 played chamber music by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann, accompanied by renowned pianist and conductor Christoph Eschenbach. Eschenbach is currently music director of both the National Symphony Orchestra and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

AIDA Cruises has supported the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern since 2002 and thus ranks among the longest-standing sponsors of one of the largest classical festivals in Germany.

With targeted commitments in the world of art and culture, AIDA Cruises has for many years demonstrated its sense of social responsibility. “It brings us great pleasure to help make this region an international meeting point for friends of classical and modern music,” explains Hansjörg Kunze, Vice President Communication & Sustainability at AIDA Cruises.

Daniel Müller-Schott already performed memorable concerts in 2012 for AIDAstella’s maiden voyage, transforming the Theatrium of the ship into a swimming concert hall.
