COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2012--
Molina
Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH) today announced that its wholly owned
subsidiary, Molina Healthcare of Ohio, Inc., has earned its
accreditation status and received a "Commendable" rating from the
National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA awards a status of
"Commendable" to organizations with well-established programs for
service and clinical quality that meet rigorous requirements for
consumer protection and quality improvement accorded by the NCQA, an
independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to measuring the
quality of America's health care.
"Quality is a top priority for Molina Healthcare and we are pleased that
our Ohio plan has been recognized by NCQA with a Commendable rating,"
said Kathie Mancini, regional vice president for Molina Healthcare, Inc.
“For more than 31 years, Molina Healthcare has been working to provide
high quality care to the most vulnerable citizens, and we are proud that
all of our eligible health plans are NCQA accredited."
“Achieving an accreditation status of Commendable from NCQA is a sign
that a health plan is serious about quality. It is awarded to plans
whose service and clinical quality meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous
requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement,” said
Margaret E. O’Kane, president, National Committee on Quality Assurance.
Health plans earning this accreditation level must also achieve
Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) results that
are in the highest range of national or regional performance. HEDIS is a
tool used by more than 90 percent of America's health plans to measure
performance on important dimensions of care and service.
"This recognition is a great accomplishment for the Molina Healthcare
team and we are grateful for our provider and state partners for making
it possible," said Amy Schultz Clubbs, president of Molina Healthcare of
Ohio. "We look forward to continuing to serve our members with the
highest quality of care."
