Susan MacGregor Coughlin joined the Board of Directors in December 2008. She is a former vice chairman and member of the National Transportation Safety Board, and a former deputy administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration. She is president and founder of Air Safety Management Associates.
Coughlin has held executive positions in the transportation industry since 1981, as president and CEO of the Aviation Safety Alliance, president and COO of the American Transportation Research Institute, director and CEO of the ATA Foundation, and president and COO of BDM Air Safety Management Corp. She has served on the Flight Safety Foundation Board of Governors, the FAA's Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Committee, NASA's Air Traffic Control Executive Steering Committee, and the Aerospace and Engineering Board of the National Academies of Science.
Coughlin earned a bachelor’s degree from Moravian College and did graduate work at the University of Utah.
