FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2007--ManTech International
Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT), a leading provider of innovative
technologies and solutions focused on mission-critical national
security programs for the Intelligence Community; the Departments of
Defense, State, Homeland Security and Justice; the Space Community;
and other U.S. federal government customers announced today that it
received a contract in the fourth quarter 2006 to support
mine-clearing and other systems for the U.S. Army in numerous
locations within Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
The competitively awarded task order, issued under the Army
Communications Electronics Life Cycle Command, Rapid Response
contract, has a base-period and option-period, and a total potential
value to ManTech of $159 million over sixteen months. This new task
order is demand driven and requirements may accelerate over time based
on the Army's needs in the theater of operation. ManTech is a lead
subcontractor to VSE Corporation (Nasdaq: VSEC), Alexandria, VA.
ManTech will provide services as ordered under the task including
deployed sustainment management; deployed logistics and repairs
management; unique system training and curriculum support; and
resource management and acquisition. ManTech will support unique and
specialized systems including the mine-clearing, Joint Explosive
Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Rapid Response Vehicle (JERRV). Services will
be provided in Southwest Asia - including Iraq, Afghanistan and
Kuwait, for the Program Management Assured Mobility Systems and the
U.S. Army Tank and Automotive Command.
The JERRV is a medium mine-protected vehicle designed and built to
provide increased survivability to EOD and combat engineer mine
clearing teams in known threat areas.
