ROANOKE, Va., October 24, 2008 – Advance Auto Parts, Inc., (NYSE: AAP), a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories, and maintenance items, today announced the promotion of Ralph Gonzalez as Regional Vice President. Mr. Gonzalez will report to Kurt Schumacher, Senior Vice President of Operations for stores in the Southeast and Florida.

Mr. Gonzalez joined Advance earlier this year as National Director of Sales Development. Prior to joining Advance, Mr. Gonzalez worked for Best Buy from 1995 to 2008 in various field management positions. Prior to Best Buy, he worked for the Tandy Corporation and Circuit City in various management positions.

Mr. Gonzalez will be based in Tampa, FL.
