GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2008--GameStop Corp.
(NYSE:GME), announced today it will host events on Saturday, June 28,
2008, at more than 600 of its U.S. stores in celebration of the
midnight launch for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Events will continue at
more than 2,300 stores on Sunday, June 29, beginning at 9 a.m.
GameStop, the world's largest video game and entertainment
software retailer, has created several fun activities to commemorate
the launch of this next edition in the successful Guitar Hero family.
These activities include:
-- Free Guitar Hero-branded harmonicas to those waiting in line
for the midnight launch on June 28. Quantities are limited.
-- Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in-store tournaments - test your skills
on any of 20 new songs available to strum on Guitar Hero:
Aerosmith.
-- Air Guitar challenges - show off your best air guitar moves
to popular Aerosmith songs. Since true air guitar is an art
form, not an actual skill, GameStop customers will vote on the
winners in each participating store.
-- Walk This Way impersonation contests - GameStop challenges
you to dress up like your favorite Aerosmith band member. The
best look-a-likes will be eligible for prizes.
-- Trivia challenges - find out how well you know the ins and
outs of Guitar Hero.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation
3, Nintendo Wii and Playstation 2 platforms. Most participating
GameStop locations will begin their midnight launch events after 10
p.m. local time on June 28; however, customers are encouraged to
contact their local store to confirm the exact start time for the
events.
To participate, visit a GameStop store for details. To find a
local store, log on to GameStop.com, and search using the Store
