JCDecaux Wins 6 New Street Furniture Contracts Forecast To Generate Advertising Revenues of EUR250million

Paris, 15/02/02 – JCDecaux SA (Euronext: DEC), a world leader in outdoor advertising and the largest outdoor group in Europe, announced today that it has won six new street furniture contracts for cities in Europe, South America and Asia. The six contracts are for a total of 5,117 advertising panels and are forecast to generate combined advertising revenues of € 250 million.

Europe

JCDecaux Spain has signed three new contracts for the provision of street furniture in Saragossa (population 700,000), Alicante (population 300,000) and Mostoles (population 210,000). With a total of 2,105 advertising panels, these three contracts are forecast to generate advertising revenues of € 128 million.

In addition to JCDecaux's existing range of high quality street furniture, the contracts also involve plans for installing new types of street furniture offering a wide range of public services. These include, an electronic bulletin board system displaying a variety of public information via interactive terminals and electronic displays. The contracts will also supply multi-material waste collectors (glass, batteries and plastics), self-maintaining public toilets and children's playgrounds.

In Denmark JCDecaux has won the contract to operate and maintain the parking facilities for the city of Copenhagen's municipal bicycle scheme. This contract is for 210 advertising panels and is forecast to generate advertising sales of €9 million.

South America

JCDecaux has secured an exclusive advertising contract for the Santiago metro in Chile. The contract is to supply and operate 1,750 advertising panels throughout the city's 52 metro stations, which have a potential audience of 200 million passengers a year; it is forecast to generate total advertising revenues of some € 83 million.

Asia

The Group has signed a partnership agreement with In-Poong Inc., the leading South Korean external advertising firm, to design and install taxi shelters, incorporating some 1,052 advertising panels, in Seoul. Under the terms of the agreement JCDecaux is forecast to receive advertising revenues of €30 million.

With a population of more than 10 million, Seoul is one of the world's largest city and the most important advertising market in South Korea. South Korea is the seventh largest advertising market worldwide, the second largest in Asia and only slightly smaller than France and Italy.
