Kraft Foods North America Acquires `Back to Nature' Business

NORTHFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 2003--Kraft Foods North America (KFNA), the largest branded food company in North America (NYSE:KFT), announced today that it is acquiring the Back to Nature brand cereal and granola business from Organic Milling, Inc., a privately held manufacturer of natural products. Back to Nature cereal and granola products are sold in retail grocery and natural product stores across the United States.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Organic Milling, based in San Dimas, CA, posted 2002 revenues for the Back to Nature brand of nearly $10 million. Organic Milling will produce Back to Nature cereals and granola for Kraft under a co-manufacturing agreement.
