Global Payments Inc.(TM) Ranked by BusinessWeek Magazine as an IT 100 Company
ATLANTA, Jun 24, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN), a leading provider of payment card and check processing solutions, was recognized as one of The Information Technology 100 by BusinessWeek magazine in the publication's Annual Report on Technology Companies. Global Payments was ranked number 59 in the world, and listed among IT industry leaders such as IBM, HP, EBAY, Oracle and Dell. The IT 100 list appears in the June 24 issue.

In order to create The Information Technology 100, BusinessWeek started with 10,000 publicly traded companies, trimmed the list to information technology companies only, and added non-U.S. technology companies. To qualify, companies needed at least $300 million in revenue. After meeting other criteria determined by the magazine, companies were ranked using the following criteria: shareholder return, return on equity, revenue growth and total revenue, which was given 1.5 times the weight of the other categories.
