TCS Supports U.S. Army Central Command Requirements in Afghanistan
ANNAPOLIS, MD, Dec 21, 2010 -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced that it has been awarded incremental funding of $2 million to provide the U.S. Army Central Command (USARCENT) with space segment for its Afghanistan operations. This award is an exercised option on an existing delivery order of $5.9 million issued by the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO). This is the second year of service on a three-year contract if all options are exercised. USARCENT is funding this procurement through GSA's SATCOM II contract vehicle.
