LARGO, Md., Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The AMERIGROUP Foundation recently honored the Prince George's County Child Resource Center at a ceremony in Largo, Maryland. State Senator Nathaniel Exum, District 24, Prince George's County, attended as AMERIGROUP Senior Vice President Steven B. Larsen presented a check for $4,500 on behalf of the AMERIGROUP Foundation to the Center's Executive Director Marti Worshtil.

The Prince George's County Child Resource Center, established in 1994, provides on-site services to primarily Hispanic at-risk families who are expecting or have children younger than five years of age. The Center provides comprehensive support to more than 250 families in the areas of literacy, computer training, job readiness, basic budgeting and parent education and counseling. The Center has two programs, one located in Largo and the other at the Adelphi/Langley Park Family Support Center. All services are provided at no cost to participants.

The grant from the AMERIGROUP Foundation will support both programs and provide community improvement by helping families obtain the support needed to achieve their personal goals and enhance the quality of their lives.

"The Center serves many families who have been in the United States for less than one year and are very much in need of supportive resources such as what is being offered by the Center."
