IGT, Strategy9 to Showcase Third-Party Casino Tournament Application for Server-Based Network at G2E
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Game Technology
(NYSE: IGT) and Strategy9 announced today that a third-party developed
application has been successfully tested and integrated into IGT's
server-based network. This innovative functionality will interface with IGT's
sbX(TM) tournament concepts and is on display in IGT's booth at the Global
Gaming Expo (G2E) through November 20 in Las Vegas.
"Within a short time of receiving IGT's sbX(TM) interface specifications,
we were able to completely integrate our Slot Tournament Management System
(STMS(TM)) application adding robust tournament management features to IGT's
tournament concepts," said Strategy9's Chief Executive Officer, Andrew White.
"The integration was so easy, it allowed us additional time to focus on new
product development. Our automated tournament management solution will make
it easier for operators to organize tournament events, as well as making the
tournament registration process far more convenient for the player."
IGT plans to utilize the STMS(TM) integration with head-to-head and
real-time tournament concepts that are in development to enhance scoring and
ranking, and to award calculations.
IGT's sbX(TM) solution provides "plug and play" capabilities needed for
third-party developers to deliver their applications to the market. This
gives operators more choices and flexibility when it comes to offering players
compelling reasons to visit their properties.
"By providing access to our system to innovative third-party developers,
we're able to give casino operators more choices that meet their business
objectives," said Rich Schneider, IGT Executive Vice President of Product
Strategy. "The integration of Strategy9's proven STMS(TM) application is a
great example of how we're committed to working with third-party developers to
bring innovation to market. This type of cooperative spirit helps open up the
industry to new technologies that otherwise would not be possible."
Schneider added, "We look forward to working with the Strategy9 team and
other third parties to deliver compelling technologies using sbX(TM), our
Experience Management solution."
