Sears Canada Appoints Chief Marketing Officer
TORONTO, Mar 22, 2007 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Sears Canada Inc. (TSX: SCC) announced today the appointment of Pamela Griffith-Jones as Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer. Ms. Griffith-Jones will lead the Company's marketing organization and develop the Sears brand and private merchandise brand positioning in Canada.

Ms. Griffith-Jones has 20 years of progressive leadership experience including at Cooper & Lybrand Consulting in Canada and the U.K. and, for the past 14 years, at Canadian Tire Corporation, most recently as Vice-President, Leisure Products Division. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business, receiving her HBA in 1987 and MBA in 1990.

Under the leadership of Ms. Griffith-Jones, several initiatives will be undertaken to improve our marketing capabilities including creating a direct marketing group, customizing assortments and marketing to become more relevant to our customers, and increasing the return on marketing investments.
