Sears Canada Advised by Fisher-Price(R) Canada of a Potential Safety Hazard relating to the Laugh & Learn(TM)Learning Bunny Toys
TORONTO, Feb. 19, 2007 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Sears Canada has been advised by Fisher-Price(R) Canada, a division of Mattel Canada Inc., of a potential safety hazard relating to the Laugh & Learn(TM) Learning Bunny Toys. It has been discovered that the pink pompom noses on these bunnies can detach. This can potentially pose a choking hazard to young children.

The Fisher-Price(R) Laugh & Learn(TM) Learning Bunnies were sold at Sears Canada retail stores as well as through the Sears Canada catalogue between August 2006 and February 2007 for $24.99. The affected models are: K0468 and K2965 with corresponding Sears item numbers 65468 and 65469 that may be found on your receipt of sale. The affected bunnies measure approximately 10-inches high; are yellow with one green and one orange ear; and have three-dimensional pink pompom noses.

Fisher-Price(R) has received no reports of incidents or injuries to date.

In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers who own an affected Laugh & Learn(TM) Learning Bunny to take it away from children immediately and contact Fisher-Price(R) at 1-866-447-5003, or visit www.service.fisher-price.com to arrange for a $20 voucher for a replacement toy of their choice. Catalogue customers will be contacted by mail.

Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety recall. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes for any inconvenience.
