|Sears Canada Advised by Breville(R) of a Potential Safety Hazard relating to the Breville Moda Blender(TM)|
|TORONTO, Feb. 19, 2007 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Sears Canada has been advised by Breville(R) of a potential safety hazard relating to the Breville Moda Blender(TM). A potential risk has been identified where components of the blade assembly may dislodge and potentially pose injury to the user.
The Breville Moda Blender(TM) was sold at Sears Canada retail stores as well as through the Sears Canada catalogue between June 2004 and July 2006 for $129.99. The affected model is CBL25XL and the model number is located on the rating plate on the bottom of the motor base of the blender. The corresponding Sears item number is 80042 and may be found on your receipt of sale.
Breville(R) has received no reports of associated incidents or injuries to date.
In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers who own an affected Breville Moda Blender(TM) to cease use immediately and contact Breville(R) at 1-888-220-2899, to receive a free replacement blade assembly. Catalogue customers will be contacted by mail.
Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety recall. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes for any inconvenience.
