TORONTO, Sep. 20, 2006 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Sears Canada Inc. (TSX: SCC) announced today that it will not declare a dividend for the second quarter of 2006. As previously announced by the Corporation, the Board of Directors deferred its decision with respect to a dividend declaration for the second quarter.

Furthermore, the Company announced that it will discontinue the payment of quarterly dividends consistent with the practice of its parent company, Sears Holdings Corporation.
