Sears Yonge & Dundas Brings the Phenomenon of the Antiques Roadshow(TM) Collection by Pulaski Furniture tour to downtown Toronto

TORONTO, May 6, 2005 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- Sears Yonge & Dundas will be holding for the second consecutive year the Antiques Roadshow(TM) Furniture Collection by Pulaski event. The line is inspired by real antiques featured on the popular Emmy-nominated PBS(R) series, Antiques Roadshow(TM).

The event will be held at Sears Yonge & Dundas, 290 Yonge Street on Friday May 6th from noon to 8:00 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to view pieces of the collection, participate in work-shops, as well as experience the thrill of the Antiques Roadshow(TM) series with free appraisals of jewellery, collectibles and more to uncover their own potential treasures.

Jim Kelly, Executive Vice President of the Pulaski Furniture Corporation says this special event is something you do not want to miss. "The collection is extraordinary," says Kelly. "It's authentic furniture based on real antiques, real people and real stories about home furnishings. These are tomorrow's heirlooms, today."

The Antiques Roadshow(TM) Collection offers antique adaptation bedroom and dining room sets, curios and other eclectic accents which come with their own special hangtag, featuring a photograph and history of the original antique from which it was inspired. Highlights at the Sears Toronto Eaton Centre include the Carlton Manor Bedroom set, Dining Room set and Occasional furnishings pieces, all inspired from 18th Century Britain emphasizing sharp vertical carvings with an architectural feel along with generous scaling and functionality for today's lifestyle.

Brenda Wood, Store Manager, Sears Yonge & Dundas is excited about having the event come to the store once again. "The collection is part of one of the hottest trends happening in home design and furnishings. It gives customers the opportunity to view pieces of the collection and a chance to furnish their homes with the latest pieces that have both value and meaning."

The Antiques Roadshow(TM) television series features ordinary people who bring everything from family heirlooms to items they have picked up at tag sales on the show to be appraised, hoping their item has some historic or monetary value. The show is the most-watched primetime series on PBS(R), with nine million viewers every week.

Pulaski is one of the leading furniture manufacturers in the United States producing high quality furnishings for the home.
