TORONTO, Dec 23, 2004 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- Sears Canada has been advised by Buffalo(R), David Bitton, manufacturer of the boys' hooded fooler jacket, that the drawstring on the hood is longer than the industry standard and is therefore considered a potential strangulation hazard. Although there have been no reported incidents, customers who purchased the jacket in size S; 7-8, M; 10-12 or L; 14-16 should remove the drawstring immediately. The hooded fooler jacket, exclusive to Sears, is offered in a frayed- edged denim with fleece lining, striped cuffs, and front pockets with embroidery. The jacket is available in a blue/black stripe and a light snow wash and retails for $39.99. Sears Canada immediately pulled the item off sale and will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety notice.
