Sears Canada Issues Safety Notice for the Clubhouse Swing Set by Little Tikes(TM)
TORONTO, Aug. 19, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- Sears Canada Inc. has been advised by Little Tikes(TM) that it is voluntarily issuing a safety notice regarding the Clubhouse Swing Set by Little Tikes(TM). These were sold through the Sears Canada catalogue and online at www.sears.ca. It has been discovered that the directions for assembly of the blue swing seat portion of the swing set may not have been included in all of the products. Connections at the swing harness ends are not closed until final assembly by the consumers. Failure to perform this step can pose injury to children.

The swing set features a climbing wall, rope ladder, slide, and two swings. The seat portion of the affected product is blue.

The affected swing set was sold through the Sears Canada catalogue and online at www.sears.ca, between October 28, 2008 and December 15, 2008. The regular selling price was $449.99. The model number is 400V or 612398, and is located on the underside of the main platform of the product. The corresponding Sears item number is 65654 and can be found on your sales receipt.

Neither Sears Canada nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries relating to the use of this product.

In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada advises customers who own an affected product to immediately stop children from using it. Customers are asked to contact Little Tikes customer service at 1-800-321-0183, Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to obtain product assembly instructions.

Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety notice. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to your attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you.
