U.S. Bank Branches Official Collection Sites for Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 2007--Minnesotans have an opportunity to help the hungry this March when U.S. Bank branches across the state become community collection sites for the 2007 Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. Titled "Feeding the Hungry for 25 Years," the campaign runs from March 1 through March 31. People are welcome to stop by any U.S. Bank branch in the state and drop off cash, food, baby or personal care donations for their local food shelf.

"More Minnesotans than ever before rely on their local food shelf to provide them with the food that they need," said Sue Kainz, campaign coordinator for the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. "Items that are needed most include canned fruit juices, hot and dry cereals, canned meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. Personal care and baby items are also needed."

"This is the sixth year that U.S. Bank is partnering with Minnesota FoodShare to help restock our local food shelves," said Rick Hartnack, vice chairman of consumer banking at U.S. Bancorp. "All donations made at U.S. Bank branches will benefit the local community."

Minnesota FoodShare, a program of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, directs the March Campaign, the largest food and cash drive in the state. In 2007, the campaign will help restock more than 265 food shelves across Minnesota. Half of all the groceries distributed at Minnesota's food shelves each year come from the March Campaign.
