U.S. Bank Name to Replace WestStar Bank Name in Colorado

MINNEAPOLIS & DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2006--New U.S. Bank signs will replace old WestStar Bank signs in the Colorado cities of Aspen, Avon, Breckenridge, Cedaredge, Delta, Denver, Dillon, Edwards, Estes Park, Frisco, Fruita, Glenwood Springs, Granby, Grand Junction, Gypsum, Montrose, Norwood, Telluride and Vail on Saturday, Dec. 9. ATM locations in these markets will also have new U.S. Bank signage.

The new U.S. Bank signage is the result of U.S. Bancorp's purchase of Vail Banks Inc., the parent company of WestStar Bank, which was completed on Sept. 1, 2006. The acquisition gives U.S. Bank 22 additional branch locations for a total of 134 offices, and 21 additional ATMs in Colorado for a total of more than 250. U.S. Bank now has total deposits of approximately $7 billion in Colorado.

"Former WestStar Bank customers will receive continued commitment to them and their communities," said John Elmore, executive vice president of U.S. Bank Community Banking. "The same outstanding financial services professionals who helped customers as WestStar bankers will now help customers as members of the U.S. Bank team. Our customers are important to us and they know they can bank with us when they want, where they want and on their own terms as U.S. Bank customers."

The name of the bank is changing, however, customer relationships and most products and services of the former WestStar Bank will remain the same. WestStar Bank customers with checking accounts will receive a free order of U.S. Bank checks with new account numbers. New debit, ATM and check cards with new account numbers will also be sent to customers. Customers will have more branch locations and ATMs to do their banking when they travel in U.S. Bank's 24-state footprint. Customers have been notified and provided with additional information explaining the acquisition and the benefits of the new organization.

U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB), with assets of $217 billion, is the 6th largest financial holding company in the United States. The company operates 2,467 banking offices and 4,943 ATMs, and provides a comprehensive line of banking, brokerage, insurance, investment, mortgage, trust and payment services products to consumers, businesses and institutions.
