LATINA Style Magazine Selects U.S. Bank as One of the Top 50 Places for Latinas to Work

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 2006--U.S. Bank is one of the top 50 best places for Latinas to work in the United States according to a 2006 listing by LATINA Style magazine. The list was published in the August 2006 issue of LATINA Style.

LATINA Style selected the top 50 companies after careful evaluation of more than 800 leading corporations in the United States. It credited U.S. Bank for its demonstrated commitment to diversity, hiring and promoting Latinas at all levels of the organization, its mentorship program and workplace benefits as factors leading to the company's inclusion on the list.

"U.S. Bank is dedicated to recruiting employees from all ethnic and social backgrounds, which we do through website postings and partnerships with national Hispanic organizations," said Jennie Carlson, director of human resources at U.S. Bank. "We offer flexible work options, generous scholarships, mentorship and emerging leaders programs that gives all employees the opportunities to grow and achieve success, as well as a healthy work-life balance."

The LATINA Style 50 companies will be honored on February 8, 2007, during LATINA Style's Best Practices in Diversity Conference in Washington, D.C. They will also be recognized at an exclusive awards reception at the White House.

U.S. Bank is committed to the Hispanic market through its business products and services, in addition to its employment opportunities. U.S. Bank issues the LATINA Style Visa(R) Platinum card that generates money for scholarships each time a new card is activated and every time that card is used. It was also one of the first banks in the United States to accept the Matricula as a form of identification when opening an account. U.S. Bank participates in "Welcome Home," a national project aimed at training and hiring returning bilingual military personnel to work in the mortgage field. In 2004, U.S. Bank partnered with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to offer "Capital," a loan program for small businesses in high-growth Hispanic markets nationwide.
