HUDSON, Wis., Feb 01, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank will break ground at the site of a new branch office on Friday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. and the U.S. Bank hot air balloon will make an appearance in the "Flakes and Flames" celebration of the Hudson Hot Air Affair Feb. 3-5 in Hudson, Wis.

Hudson Mayor Jack Breault will be among the dignitaries breaking ground with the U.S. Bank balloon flying high above the future site of the new branch on the corner of Center Drive and Carmichael Road in Hudson. Kids representing the Hudson Community Built Playground will also be on hand bearing shovels to turn some dirt and also accept a $500 donation from U.S. Bank for the playground project.

"We're so proud to be a part of the Hudson community and thrilled that we can participate in the event that is at the heart of our winter, the Hudson Hot Air Affair," said Cosette Bublitz, manager of the U.S. Bank branch in Hudson. "We look forward to celebrating with our friends and customers, particularly with the appearance of the U.S. Bank hot air balloon in all of the weekend's festivities."

The U.S. Bank hot air balloon will stay in town all weekend to take part in the Hot Air Affair, the Midwest's premier winter ballooning event. It will participate in the Torchlight Parade on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. on Second Street. It will also join the more than 40 other balloons in mass ascensions from the E.P.
