'Imagine the Possibilities' at the U.S. Bank Galena Parade of Homes October 15-16; Parade Visitors who Tour all 13 Homes Qualify for $500 Savings Bond Drawing

GALENA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 2005--U.S. Bank's third annual Parade of Homes, which will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16, showcases 13 custom-built homes, alongside Galena's glorious fall colors. This year's theme, "Imagine the Possibilities" gives parade-goers a preview of innovative architecture, outstanding craftsmanship and the latest trends in technology and interior decor in Galena, the Galena Territory and East Dubuque.

Highlights of some of the home features include soaring ceilings, limestone fireplaces, recreational rooms with amenities such as a wet bar, sit-down bar, billiards, built-in entertainment centers, home theatre room and even an ice cream parlor. Technological advancements include in-floor radiant heat, in-wall and in-ceiling speaker systems, wiring for satellite audio and video, plus a centralized kitchen keypad control unit. A European Lodge, posh French country and a Tuscany flavor with warm colors are a few of the interior design trends featured.

B'Ann Dittmar, U.S. Bank Galena market president, said that the housing industry continues to be strong in the Galena area. "The Parade allows visitors to see the best-of-the-best from local builders while accumulating stunning ideas for building, remodeling, or decorating their own homes. This year's showcase of high-end, new custom homes demonstrates the culmination of years of the very best in Galena's home building industry," said Dittmar. "The builders have truly outdone themselves this year with magnificent homes and jaw-dropping features."

All ticket proceeds from the event benefit local nonprofit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Tyler's Justice Center for Children, Galena EMT's and United Churches of Galena Food Pantry. More than $20,000 has been raised for charity through past ticket sales.

"We're thrilled with how this event has grown due to the enthusiasm of parade-goers who travel from near and far to see our community's brightest builders and designers while helping us raise much-needed funds for local organizations. Our volunteers especially enjoy meeting those who qualify for our drawing of a $500 U.S. savings bond when they make it to all of the homes on the tour," said Dittmar.

This year's parade showcases ten homes nestled among the hills in the Galena Territory, built by Galena Hillside Homes, Northgate Builders, G.W. Knuckey Builders, Village Homes, Schmidt & Associates, Stangl Construction LLC, Robert Johnson Builders, Log Works, McGuire Construction and Kimball Hill Development. A luxury town home by Matrix National Investment at Cobblestone Crossing in Galena is also featured, and two beautiful homes by Northwest Builders in East Dubuque complete the tour.

This year's parade top sponsors are: First Galena Corporation, TGI Realty, De'Lites, Ashley Furniture HomeStore, Preferred Properties at Eagle Ridge, The Floor Emporium, J & R Rental, FloorShow Furniture & Flooring, Siemen Woodworks, Inc., Vignettes, and Slumberland.
