U.S. Bank Celebrates Grand Opening of Full-Service Office Inside Eureka Schnucks Store

EUREKA, Mo., Aug 25, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank and Schnuck Markets, Inc. are holding a joint grand opening celebration on Tuesday, August 30 at 9:00 a.m. Kicking off a weeklong celebration featuring family fun, refreshments and prizes, the bank will unveil its seven-day-a-week, full-service office inside the new Schnucks Eureka Marketplace at 245 East 5th Street.

Joe Imbs, U.S. Bank St. Louis market president, said that this is the first of 26 new U.S. Bank offices that will be located in Schnucks stores throughout the St. Louis area by early next year. "We are a dominant player in St. Louis and will only continue to grow," said Imbs, who noted that St. Louis will soon have 100 branches as well as approximately 300 ATMs.

Mike Burke, senior vice president of U.S. Bank's central in-store group, said, "Research shows that consumers bank 2.4 times per week and grocery shop 2.6 times per week, so our partnership with Schnucks is a great way to enable customers to bank where they shop and shop where they bank."

Joshua (Josh) Heihn, new U.S. Bank Eureka manager, added, "We are really excited to be partnering with Schnucks and think the Eureka community will appreciate having a bank that is open extended hours. In addition to opening free checking accounts with free Internet bill pay, customers can conveniently transact business on savings, CDs, IRAs and other investment opportunities, or get a loan for a car, boat, home improvement or debt consolidation. We also have a Super ATM that sells postage stamps and phone cards in addition to handling banking transactions."

Burke added that customers who take advantage of U.S. Bank products and services can also take comfort in knowing that U.S. Bank is home of the exclusive Five Star Service Guarantee, meaning business will be efficient and accurate on every transaction or the bank will pay that customer $5.

The hours of the new U.S. Bank office inside Schnucks are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Customers also have access to services 24-hours a day through ATM, telephone or Internet banking.

Burke says, in the first week of operation, there will be fun for the entire family and prize drawings will be held throughout the store. One lucky winner will receive the top prize of a $1,000 U.S. Bank Visa(R) gift card. "Scratch and Win" cards will be given to the first 2,000 shoppers, and customers who open new U.S. Bank accounts also will receive a Schnucks gift card valued up to $50. During Labor Day weekend, children can join in the fun by picking up "money" crayons and entering a "color the piggy bank" contest. The U.S. Bank Pig mascot will be on hand to present children with their own piggy banks.
