U.S. Bank Donates $126,000 to Nonprofit Organizations in Honor of its Employees as Part of Five Star Volunteer Award Program

MINNEAPOLIS, Jul 28, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank (NYSE:USB) has identified the first round recipients of the U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Award program, which honors employees for their exceptional volunteer service, and will contribute $126,000 in $1,000 awards to 126 organizations. The award recipients were chosen based on nominations submitted by employees or the organization for which they volunteer.

"These awards celebrate our company's most exceptional employee volunteers and the hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours they contribute to their communities every year," said Richard Davis, president and chief operating officer of U.S. Bancorp, parent company of U.S. Bank. "We applaud their work and respect the commitment that they have made to enriching the communities in which we live, work and play."

The first round of U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Awards will be presented in 25 states and the District of Columbia. Nominations are being accepted for the second round of awards and may be made by an employee or by a nonprofit organization. The deadline for the second round of 2005 nominations is Sept. 15, 2005.
