U.S. Bank Looks for Dodger and Padre Fans to Jump Aboard Promotion with Amtrak

LOS ANGELES & SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 2005--Fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will have two chances to score big in support of their respective teams starting this weekend. U.S. Bank (NYSE:USB), sponsor of both National League West rivals, in a unique partnership with Amtrak, is giving fans the chance to win a trip to watch the rivalry at an away game later in the year.

Volunteers from U.S. Bank and Amtrak will pass out 25,000 fliers on Sunday, June 26 in San Diego as fans enter Petco Park to watch the first place San Diego Padres. The fliers promote an enter-to-win contest available exclusively at local U.S. Bank branches (all San Diego U.S. Bank locations are listed on the back of the fliers). The grand prize, valued at over $1,500, includes a trip for four in Amtrak's business class from San Diego to Los Angeles and four tickets to watch the Padres battle the Dodgers in VIP dugout seats.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, a season-long promotion provides Dodgers fans with a set of free baseball cards courtesy of U.S. Bank. Any fan who stops by the U.S. Bank booth at any of the eight U.S. Bank tabling dates at Dodger Stadium will receive a free set of five Upper Deck Dodgers baseball cards featuring Eric Gagne, J.D. Drew, Derek Lowe, Milton Bradley and Jason Phillips. U.S. Bank will give away 80,000 sets of cards throughout the season.

Additionally, each set includes a custom-designed, checklist card promoting the U.S. Bank Five Star Giveaway. Each checklist card is individually numbered, from 00000 to 80000, and fans can visit a U.S. Bank to check if their number is a winner. Prizes include Dodger dugout seats, a chance to take batting practice at Dodger Stadium and a trip to San Diego to see the Dodgers take on the Padres during the final weekend of the 2005 season.

"These promotions further our great partnerships with both of the teams and express our commitment to the communities of San Diego and Los Angeles," said Darrell Brown, region manager for U.S. Bank in southern California. "Our branches are excited to this influx of current and potentially new U.S. Bank customers visiting our many locations in both markets during this exciting promotion."
