U.S. Bank Partners With Coast Soccer League in Southern California

LOS ANGELES (June 15, 2005) - The Coast Soccer League (CSL) has named U.S. Bank as the "Official Financial Services Institution of the Coast Soccer League." U.S. Bank and CSL have worked together closely to design programs, products and services that will benefit the CSL, its member clubs and CSL families across southern California.

"This partnership reinforces U.S. Bank's long tradition of supporting organizations and activities that encourage healthy, active lifestyles and CSL's position as a nationwide leader in competitive youth soccer reflects that," said Darrell Brown, senior vice president and regional manager for U.S. Bank in southern California. "CSL is a progressive, growing organization and we are excited to work with them to provide customized financial solutions delivered with U.S. Bank's Five Star Service Guarantee. Our investment in CSL illustrates U.S. Bank's dedication to southern California, its communities and the families that live, work and play here."

U.S. Bank's support will allow CSL to develop programs to aid clubs in locating and developing field space in their local areas, help clubs attain non-profit 501©(3) status, and create a fund to assist CSL teams traveling to Regional and National Competitions. In addition, CSL-specific US Bank products and services are being developed to benefit all CSL Teams, Clubs and Leagues. CSL organizations and families will be able to use the resources of US Bank to address their financial needs and help them to reach their financial goals.

CSL is a state, regional and national leader in the competitive youth soccer landscape. With more than 170 clubs and 2,100 teams covering the 330 miles from San Luis Obispo to the U.S.-Mexico border, CSL has drawn praise from soccer organizations both inside and outside the United States. In particular, CSL has focused on club and player development, corporate partnerships that provide direct benefits to CSL members, and the use of technology to organize programs and promote CSL players.

This ground-up philosophy has resulted in several programs that set new standards for league organization and player development in the United States. These include CSL Premier, an application-only league for top teams at U-16, U17 and U-19 and the Premier Development Program (PDP), an innovative player identification and development project that pairs Southern California's top players with high-level coaches from U.S. colleges, Major League Soccer and international clubs including Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Chelsea (England).
