U.S. Bank Expands Rewards Card Portfolio With New Category of Business-to-Business 'Partner Cards'

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2005--U.S. Bank has taken the success that it has achieved in building card programs with partner organizations and introduced a new category of business-to-business, partner cards. This new program enables the partnering business to market itself and extend rewards to its business customers. The partner card program also represents a new way for U.S. Bank to reach small business customers on a new level.

The first partner card in the program is the Patterson Advantage Visa(R) Business Card, which went live on May 1. The Patterson Advantage Visa Business Card will be marketed to the 130,000 dental professionals that rely upon Patterson Dental for products and supplies. These businesses may earn points toward travel, merchandise and gift cards to some of America's most popular restaurants simply by using the Patterson Advantage Visa Business Card to pay for their purchases. Purchases made with the Patterson Advantage Visa Business Card for Patterson Dental products earn extra points. In addition, Patterson receives compensation for each card sold and on each dollar spent at Patterson by cardholders.

"This program allows the partnering business to build loyalty with their customers, while these customers gain premium rewards on the purchases most vital to their operations," said Lynn Heitman, senior vice president of Retail Payment Solutions at U.S. Bank. "Patterson is a terrific partner and we are grateful to them for being the first to venture into this exciting new line of rewards programs."

Patterson Dental Supply, Inc is a distributor of a virtually complete range of consumable dental products, clinical and laboratory equipment, and services to dentists, dental laboratories, and other healthcare providers throughout North America. Patterson Dental Supply has the largest direct sales force in the industry, totaling nearly 1300 sales reps serving the United States and Canada.
