University of North Florida Alumni Can Now Support Their Alma Mater With New UNF Alumni Credit Card From U.S. Bank

MINNEAPOLIS & JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2005--The University of North Florida Alumni Association (UNFAA) has created a new affinity credit card partnership with U.S. Bank that benefits the university each time a new card is activated and again each and every time that card is used.

"Credit cards have become increasingly important as a payment vehicle in today's economy. The affinity credit card with U.S. Bank gives alumni another way to support their alma mater simply by using the card to pay for everyday purchases. Plus, it's a great way for alumni to show their pride," said Faith Hall, director of alumni services at the University of North Florida.

UNF alumni will have access to a variety of cards offered through this U.S. Bank partnership, including one that earns reward points that can be redeemed for gift certificates, merchandise, cash and travel rewards. The partnership improves the Association's ability to offer alumni high-quality affinity credit products and demonstrates U.S. Bank's commitment to be a key corporate partner to the university.

"The goal of the affinity business program at U.S. Bank is to provide a creative tool that supports the long-term development of campus initiatives and programs," said Tanya Turner, senior vice president of affinity products at U.S. Bank. "It is our pleasure to provide valuable card products and services to UNF alumni and the university community in support of their mission."

The new program offers two card designs, customized for UNF. "One of the unique features about the card design is that the photograph of the arena fountain was taken by John Pippin, a UNF alumnus," said Hall. Anyone can apply for the card via the alumni homepage at www.unf.edu/alumni or by calling 1-800-853-5576, ext. 8454.

Located in Jacksonville, Fla., UNF is a comprehensive public urban university whose mission is to educate students through a broad array of undergraduate and select graduate programs. UNF is dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service; and the engagement of students in a personal, supportive, and challenging learning environment. In fulfilling its mission, the university seeks to contribute to the betterment of society.
