U.S. Bank Opens Branch at Portland International Airport

PORTLAND, Ore., Apr 04, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Portland travelers no longer have to worry if they forgot to stop at the bank on their way out of town or find a bank once they arrive. That's because U.S. Bank has opened a branch at Portland International Airport (PDX) to serve the 13 million people who traverse the international gateway each year.

Portland officials will formally welcome U.S. Bank to PDX with a ribbon-cutting celebration on Wednesday, April 6 at 11 a.m. The branch is located at the north end of the terminal, in front of the security checkpoint leading to Concourse D and Concourse E.

"We are simply thrilled to partner with the Port of Portland to bring U.S. Bank to PDX," said Tina Foster, region manager for U.S. Bank in Portland. "The new location will be an added convenience for so many of our customers who come and go through the airport every day. We look forward to serving the 10,000 airport employees, as well as all of the businesses located at PDX that can take care of all of their banking needs without leaving the facility."

Selection of the airport for a branch site represents a concerted effort by U.S. Bank to open offices in more non-traditional locations, such as university campuses and corporate sites.

Colleen Lawpaugh, who previously managed the U.S. Bank office at Menlo Park, will now manage the new office at PDX. Lawpaugh has been with U.S. Bank for 32 years, all in branch banking. She is an experienced banker and is looking forward to partnering with the businesses and employees at the airport to serve the travelers.

U.S. Bank will celebrate the opening with prizes, food and special promotions including a chance to win a $250 shopping spree at stores in the airport's Oregon Market. The U.S. Bank branch, which opened for business on March 21, will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

U.S. Bank is a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB). With $195 billion in assets, U.S. Bancorp is the 6th largest financial holding company in the United States.
