New Boston University Credit Card from U.S. Bank Gives Terrier Alumni Something to Celebrate

MINNEAPOLIS & BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2005--Boston University (BU) has created a new affinity credit card partnership with U.S. Bank that generates donations to BU each time a new card is activated and again each and every time that card is used.

"The new Boston University credit card from U.S. Bank gives alumni another way to support their alma mater simply by using the card to pay for everyday purchases," said Meg Goldberg Umlas, executive director of alumni relations at BU. "The new Boston University card rewards users with points, low rates and assorted perks. Plus, it's the only credit card that will help fund alumni, student and athletic programs. It's a must have for the University's alumni, parents and friends who number nearly 300,000."

Alumni will have access to a variety of credit cards offered through this U.S. Bank partnership, including one that earns reward points that can be redeemed for gift certificates, merchandise, cash and travel rewards. The partnership improves BU's ability to offer alumni high-quality affinity credit products and demonstrates U.S. Bank's commitment to support BU as a key corporate partner for many years.

"The goal of the affinity business program at U.S. Bank is to provide a creative tool that supports the long-term development of campus initiatives and programs," said Tanya Turner, senior vice president of affinity products at U.S. Bank. "It is our pleasure to provide valuable card products and services to the Boston University community in support of its mission and we look forward to the many opportunities that will surface as a result of this program."
