U.S. Bank Home Mortgage Supports Armed Forces with U.S. Bank HomeFront Mortgage

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov 10, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank Home Mortgage will provide mortgage education and tailored mortgage services to military personnel, particularly those who are transferring or moving their families while on active duty, through a new program called U.S. Bank HomeFront Mortgage.

The U.S. Bank HomeFront Mortgage program further extends the services that U.S. Bank provides military service members and the U.S. Department of Defense, which is among its largest customers.

HomeFront Mortgage pays special attention to the distinct needs of the more than 300,000 service members who have a permanent change of station and need a trusted financial service company to assist as they purchase a new residence. The program pays particular attention to first time homebuyers, who learn what to expect in the mortgage process and how to obtain a loan with little or no down payment.

"When our service men and women turn to U.S. Bank Home Mortgage for homeownership services, they can take comfort in knowing they are working with honest, reputable mortgage professionals and the best product offering in the country," said Dan Arrigoni, president of U.S. Bank Home Mortgage. "We're going to provide service members the highest level of mortgage education and fulfillment possible. Through HomeFront Mortgage, we will act as a liaison, as a financial mentor and as a friend."

U.S. Bank Home Mortgage also recently joined forces with The Association of Military Banks of America (AMBA) and The Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN), which support the efforts and spirit of the HomeFront Mortgage program. U.S. Bank has been serving the needs of the troops and their families on Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Mont., since 1959 and the network affiliations are based on the success of that relationship.

The U.S. Department of Defense relationship with U.S. Bank extends even deeper as it utilizes commercial payment products and services through U.S. Bank and U.S. Bank PowerTrack. As well, U.S. Bank Home Mortgage recently signed-on with the Mortgage Bankers Association in the Welcome Home project, in which returning, bilingual soldiers and sailors will be trained in financial services and may ultimately have an opportunity to work for U.S. Bank.

U.S. Bank Home Mortgage is part of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB). With $193 billion in assets, U.S. Bancorp is the 6th largest financial services holding company in the United States. The company operates 2,346 banking offices and 4,621 ATMs in 24 states, and provides a comprehensive line of banking, brokerage, insurance, investment, mortgage, trust and payment services products to consumers, businesses and institutions.
