U.S. Bank Promotes Malia Wasson to Lead Commercial Banking in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2004--Mike Michael, market president of U.S. Bank in Oregon, has promoted Portland-native Malia Wasson to lead commercial banking in Oregon.

The move comes after Michael was promoted to lead all commercial lending for U.S. Bank in the western half of its footprint, which he will do from his base in Portland. He will also continue in his role as Oregon market president.

Wasson, 45, is a 22-year veteran of banking who has been with U.S. Bank in Portland since 1989. She will serve as an executive vice president, in charge of commercial banking for Oregon and southwest Washington. U.S. Bank Commercial Banking is focused on managing the total banking relationships of businesses with annual sales of $5 million to $250 million. She will lead a group of approximately 80 employees in one of the largest markets for U.S. Bank. Prior to this promotion, Wasson was a senior vice president and division manager in commercial banking.

Wasson is a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Portland and earned her bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif. She is a member of the board of Volunteers of America, the Oregon Sports Authority and the Oregon Independent Colleges Foundation.

She and her husband, Steven, live in Lake Oswego, Ore. They have two daughters, Kelsey and Michele, and one son, Samuel.
